The Bomb Disposal Squad of Beika Town Has Quite the Eventful 'Life'

The "life stories" of the Beika Town Bomb Disposal Squad are so exciting...

yeah yeah, the living don't have life stories. (lights a cigarette)

But our ultimate goal is to stay alive!

If Jinpei and Kenji hadn't been by Hina Takahashi's side, her life would have turned out very differently.

The three of them grew up fooling around together. It didn't matter that Jinpei was her rival in love, or that Big Bro Kenji was always keeping her in line, or that the three of them had had a huge fight just the day before. That's just how life went~

They'd been inseparable since elementary school, went to high school together, then university together, and in the end Hina even followed Jinpei and Kenji to the police academy.

She wasn't really suited to a job that involved physical combat, and she could barely survive in Onizuka's class.

If her two childhood friends hadn't dragged her along, she probably wouldn't have made it through even the first day.

After finally graduating, and just barely meeting the score cutoff to join the bomb disposal unit, Hina had worked so, so hard.

So hard that she thought her life would always go on like this.

Until that day...

An explosion rang out across the entire Asai residential district. Jinpei, who had been talking to Kenji on the phone just a second earlier, stared blankly at the phone in his hand, now emitting only a busy signal. Both his childhood friends had been on the other end of the call.

"I'm really angry now."

"If we die, avenge us."

Hagiwara's words came true.

1. Love interest: Jinpei Matsuda. Second male lead: Kenji Hagiwara.

***The heroine once admired Chihaya Hagiwara (major trigger warning), but she and Jinpei were never really rivals in love.***

Theme: We are caught up in forces beyond our control as we go through life. Perhaps, in the end, all we can do is stay true to ourselves.
