The Prince’s Junior Maid

After drinking that cup of tea, Li Lingyi's head began to spin. Even as the man pressed her down, she was still wondering what was happening.

The door swung open. Familiar and unfamiliar faces pointed at her, and she was the only one left on the disheveled bed.

After the palace banquet, Li Lingyi was branded a woman who had been unfaithful. Her husband shunned her, her mother-in-law despised her, and even her son and daughter refused to see her.

When she was gravely ill, she was pushed straight into the lotus pond.

Who on earth wanted her dead?

When she opened her eyes again, she had become the... young daughter of her husband's second wife's household attendant.

In this life, she didn't have to pretend to be virtuous. She would be herself and get the justice she deserved.

Crown Prince Xiao Jingheng never dreamed that he would fall at the hands of a woman.

That woman was Li Lingyi, the princess consort of his own younger brother, Prince Xiao Jue.

Li Lingyi and Xiao Jue had been childhood sweethearts, and after marriage they had a son and a daughter. Xiao Jingheng had considered every possibility, but never imagined Xiao Jue would sacrifice Li Lingyi to bring him down.

That incident had lasting consequences. Xiao Jingheng's reputation suffered, and he lost all interest in women.

The imperial physician said it was an illness of the heart.

Then Xiao Jue committed a crime and his household was seized. At the back gate, Xiao Jingheng ran into a little maid carrying a huge bundle and trying to flee. His heart ailment suddenly vanished.

He took her back to the Eastern Palace without a second thought. Then, on every restless night, he asked himself: Xiao Jingheng, can't you have a little self-respect?
