Drawing Ginger

[A Love-Hate Inferno, Followed by a Reckoning]

Ji Jiang's first night was auctioned off by the heir to Prince Ning's title, who declared that he would share the most sought-after courtesan with his friend. But the person who pushed open Ji Jiang's door was the heir's cousin, the lofty Commandery Princess Chang Lan.

The princess gripped Ji Jiang's slender waist and pressed her down onto the bed, while her husband stood outside the door confronting the heir, both sides poised for a fight.

With tears in her eyes, Ji Jiang said, "Your Highness, this... is against propriety."

"I am propriety."

Before long, a veiled female official appeared in the princess's residence. Whenever the princess was present, the official's legs would tremble of their own accord.

"Ji Jiang, do you know that my good-for-nothing younger brother has fallen hopelessly in love with you?"

"Your Highness... what would you have me do?"

"I want you to do to him what you did to me."

"...All right."

Later, the Prince Ning's residence went up in flames. The pampered princess lost her mind overnight and rushed into the fire with a strange, almost-smile.

"Was this all your scheme?"

"Ji Jiang, I will never let you go!"

"Never!!!"
