Lin Zhao was a layabout, famous as one throughout the surrounding villages.

Living off the little inheritance her family had left her, she spent her days idling around and doing nothing useful.

Then one day, everything changed.

The county magistrate's daughter insisted on marrying her, even threatening to kill herself.

From then on, Lin Zhao couldn't laze about anymore. Her inheritance wasn't enough to support two people.

-

She could barely support herself, and now she had another mouth to feed. Under Chu Xihuan's pressure, Lin Zhao worked diligently, buying food for her wife whenever she earned any money.

The thing was, Chu Xihuan was so fierce. She wanted Lin Zhao to do everything she said, and wouldn't let her get close to certain people without a good reason.

Hah...

She was so fierce, who would dare? She wasn't even afraid Lin Zhao might get fed up and run away.

Feeling down, Lin Zhao went drinking with a friend. But the woman who'd said that morning she'd be staying at her parents' home for a few days suddenly appeared with a dark expression, looking every bit like a demon from hell.

She was Lin Zhao! At least in the surrounding villages, she was a famous layabout! And her wife didn't even care about saving her face in public!

Lin Zhao, dragged home by the ear in front of everyone: )

How embarrassing!

-

But since they'd gotten married, they should try to live well together.

After much effort, Lin Zhao finally saved up some private money and bought Chu Xihuan a hairpin. But just as she was about to give it to her, delighted, she saw Chu Xihuan getting handsy with another woman.

She also found out why Chu Xihuan had married her in the first place.

The hairpin snapped in two in her hand. Lin Zhao turned and walked away, her face expressionless.

Three years later, Lin Zhao returned from military service and found Chu Xihuan still living in her house with a toddler who was just learning to walk. Her whole world collapsed.

Upcoming novel, Give Me a Bite

Yuan Qi was a Taotie, and wanted to eat a bite of everything, then another bite. She was almost done eating the land of her hometown, Furnace Mountain, when the mountain god finally kicked her down the mountain to go wreak havoc somewhere else.

After coming down the mountain, Yuan Qi was so hungry her eyes were nearly bloodshot. When she saw a graceful, ethereal, beautiful woman, her mouth began to water. She was so tempted to take a bite and see how she tasted.

Yuan Qi took a bite at the woman's face, then crouched down in tears, clutching her mouth. She'd nearly broken her teeth.

-

Someone brought Yuan Qi home. The woman didn't even mind that she'd bitten her, and took good care of her, feeding her delicious food.

Yuan Qi immediately decided that this person was the kindest person in the world, her beloved provider.

But soon, the rose-colored glasses shattered with a snap. The woman had started controlling what she ate!

Yuan Qi, dizzy with hunger, eyed Qing Wu whenever she came into view, and whenever she got the chance, she tried to bite her. Even though she never actually got to taste her, she never got tired of trying.

Watching the woman bite down on her index finger like a teething ring again, Qing Wu curled her fingertip and scratched her palate. At the shocked look she gave her, Qing Wu laughed helplessly.

"You silly thing."

-

Qing Wu had been waiting at the foot of the mountain since early morning, hoping to see the person she'd longed for so much. She never expected the one who showed up to come rushing at her, trying to take a bite. Sure enough, Qing Wu saw the other woman's eyes red from crying.

She was still hard to manage, but it could be worse. Give her a scolding and then a sweet treat, and she'd happily eat two bowls less.

The only downside was that this girl always liked to cover Qing Wu from head to toe in bite marks.

Theme: Less concealment, more trust.
