I Refuse to Marry an Old Woman

There was a wealthy family in Huai County whose youngest daughter had been frail and sickly for years. When she turned sixteen, her condition suddenly worsened, leaving her bedridden. Fortunately, an old Daoist gave them a way forward: find someone whose destiny complemented the girl's and have them marry to bring her good fortune.

After searching the whole county, they found only one woman whose destiny matched hers. She had just left the palace and was twenty-five.

Desperate to save his beloved daughter, the wealthy man offered a large sum for the woman's hand in marriage. After meeting the young girl, the woman agreed.

Their marriage shocked all of Huai County. But not long afterward, both parents suddenly passed away. The eldest son inherited the family business, demanded a division of the household, and drove the two women out together.

Jiang Yousui had been pampered all her life. Then disaster struck: her loving parents were gone, and all she had left was an uninteresting woman who had been forced upon her, and whom she didn't even like.

But now she had to rely on that uninteresting woman to support her. Gloomy and disheartened, Jiang Yousui took comfort in the fact that she still owned a tea plantation. She gritted her teeth and vowed to do better than Yan Zhiwei. She was going to be the pillar of the family!

She thought their lives would carry on quietly like that. Then one day, a group of people appeared at their door. The woman at their head wore fine silk and lavish clothes, and looked a little like Jiang Yousui. Jiang Yousui was struck as if by lightning.

The way that woman looked at Yan Zhiwei filled Jiang Yousui with an instinctive sense of danger.

Seeing how familiar the two of them were with each other, Jiang Yousui's eyes reddened with anger.

If she's mine, she's mine. Even if I don't like her, even if I die, I won't give her to anyone!
