[You can enjoy this even if you haven't read the original, because the protagonist doesn't know anyone at first and is unfamiliar with the worlds of the different series, too.]
I'm a Sugar Person. Through a twist of fate, I ended up at the DGP and became an ordinary Kamen Rider.
Ace won this Desire Grand Prix again. How many times has he become the wish-granting god by now?
"You can borrow my motorcycle for the competition."
"Thank you, Lord Ace!"
I looked at the motorcycle, overjoyed, but couldn't help feeling that something was a little off...
"Wait, do you mean the next DGP?"
"No. They picked a few main Riders and Red Warriors from different worlds for the BBG exhibition match. You're going in my place."
The entire cast is made up of protagonists, and you're sending me, an ordinary Rider? Isn't that just asking to get crushed? One day, you fox, someone will beat you!
*
I used to get by with hand-me-downs from my "teammates," and now I don't even have any items. All I have is an official Bandai belt. How am I supposed to compete?
One competitor can make their own gear by hand, another can manufacture and sell their own, those two have teammates or family members who give them items, and another can open treasure chests along the road... Wait, this all sounds so familiar!
*
There are plenty of geniuses among the competitors.
We've got a genius physicist, a genius gamer, and me, who's already homesick first thing in the morning.
*
A competition this "formal" obviously has substitutes.
"Is M definitely Hōjō Emu's substitute? You just have a split personality, right? What happens if something's wrong with your body?"
The Bugster teleported to its Host's side. "Does M need me to play the game? Let's play together!"
They can split one form into two suits, letting three people, broadly speaking, take turns playing the role.
But I'm really here all alone. My "companions" are all competing in another Grand Prix.
*
You need some time to relax between matches, too.
"Why are you bathing in your suits? Does your family run a bathhouse, so you have some kind of rule?"
"If I don't transform, Vice can't take a bath."
Actually, I'm wearing a suit, too. I'm a Sugar Person whose human form is a suit.
When I transform into a Kamen Rider, I'm wearing two suits at once.
[Reading Guide]
1. Told in first person. The protagonist is an ordinary person who doesn't know much about Riders or Sentai, and serves as the snarky observer. Any offense caused is entirely the character's own doing and does not reflect the author's views.
2. The setting has a "chaotic timeline." Characters may come from different points in the same series, so their personalities and relationships may differ as well. The protagonist will gradually get to know everyone.
3. The BBG in this story is very different from the racing competition in the original. It's an "exhibition match" with lots of original worldbuilding.
4. There is a lot of original worldbuilding involving motorcycles and other vehicles.
5. I'll add more if I think of anything.
Theme: Race onward to make your wishes come true
