The Cultivation of a First-Rank Wife

After transmigrating as the legitimate daughter of a declining family, Rong Jingshu was selected for the palace before she had even turned thirteen. After five years of workplace life, she finally became the trusted Palace Director to Her Majesty the Empress, a fifth-rank official in charge of rules, discipline, investigations, and punishments.

She thought she'd finally made it and could lie flat. Then her superior told her:

"Duke of Ying Pei Jiming is already twenty-five this year and has yet to discuss marriage. His Majesty has asked me to arrange a match for him and marry you to him."

Rong Jingshu: ???

Six years ago, Pei Jiming was sent to the frontier to eat sand because he opposed Her Majesty the Empress. Though he won military honors and rose rapidly through the ranks, he was never transferred back to the capital.

It wasn't until two years ago, after the old duke died, that His Majesty sent him back to the capital.

The Empress and Pei Jiming were on opposing sides. Now that she was being married to Pei Jiming... she was sure to displease both of them.

Rong Jingshu was deeply anxious.

But Her Majesty the Empress said, "It's just a change of scenery. You're the legitimate daughter of the Rong family. The world outside is vast, with open skies for you to soar beneath."

Rong Jingshu: All right, then. I'll leave the palace and try soaring for a while. _(:з)∠)_
