A haughty, bad-tempered orchid who loves putting on a show x a vicious stray dog at first, a devoted puppy and hopeless romantic later
Lan Dou was the most flamboyant orchid in the valley, blooming with more swagger than any other plant.
He loved basking in the other plants' envy, but at the same time desperately tried to keep the little pink pouch he grew when he bloomed tightly covered. No one could ever find out that there wasn't a single grain of pollen inside!
With the truth about to come out, he dug up a little card a friend had brought back from the city.
The man printed on it looked cold and fierce. Lan Dou didn't even want to look at him twice, but beside his picture were two lines in fancy lettering:
[Gold Medal Doctor, Miraculous Healing] [Premium Service, Results After One Session]
So he went to the city, and before his illness was cured, his belly started to swell.

Gu Fanzhang made enemies for a living and squandered money on the side. He was mean-spirited and foul-tempered.
Other than a few harmless little tricks, no one in City A could do a thing about him.
One day, he met a young man who was trying to get into his bed, whose face and schemes were worlds apart.
Gu Fanzhang frowned.
Gu Fanzhang sneered.
The cruel curl of his lips revealed that he had seen right through the boy's act of looking pitiful when he was really just impatient.
"You want me to treat your illness? Me?"
*
At first, Gu Fanzhang kept him at home for the fun of watching the little thing embarrass himself.
Later, he never expected he'd brought home a little tyrant.
The other guy was clearly a country bumpkin, yet he was so delicate and prone to discomfort in the city that Gu Fanzhang got a scare during the day and had to take cold showers at night.
And he could change his attitude in an instant. Small as he was, he had a temper to match, and when things didn't go his way, he acted even more like a spoiled young master than Gu Fanzhang himself.
Only on rare occasions would the boy soften up and play sweet and obedient.
"Doctor, when are you finally going to treat me?"
Gu Fanzhang roughly covered those thin lips with his own, thinking:
How many times has it been now? You brought this on yourself!
That night, Gu Fanzhang showed extraordinary restraint and tenderness. When he woke, all that remained were the banknotes he'd once given away and the faint orchid fragrance left behind by the person who had vanished from his side...
*
Before long, rumors swept through City A that the Gu family had gone bankrupt. Everyone said the Gu family's spoiled young master had gone into the mountains looking for orchids under the pretense of searching for his wife, only to be reported by well-meaning locals!
Gu Fanzhang was in a sorry state at the foot of the mountain, and the police wouldn't believe in a modern-day Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio.
In the end, a ridiculously handsome young man came and took him away.
For the sake of the fact that what Lan Dou was carrying in his belly was a seed, not a tumor, he was willing to forgive Gu Fanzhang for putting on airs, but Gu Fanzhang had to agree to one condition.
Lan Dou: "I think you have a real talent for being a doctor. Keep it up."
Gu Fanzhang: "What makes you say that?"
Lan Dou: "A lot of my friends in the mountains have the same problem. Could you treat them one by one?"
Gu Fanzhang: "No."
When Lan Dou learned that the man's services only worked on him, he wanted to brag about it to the whole world. But then he started feeling dissatisfied again because there was only one seed in his belly.
Lan Dou: "I'm starting to doubt your talent."
Gu Fanzhang: "?"
Lan Dou: "Orchids usually have hundreds of thousands of seeds in their seed pods."
Gu Fanzhang glanced thoughtfully at the boy's belly. After a long while, he finally spoke, his voice hoarse.
"No. You'd break."
The world is absurd and chaotic, but only after meeting you did I find a tenderness I refuse to compromise.
