[The Crime of the Diamond] Falling for Baseball's Great Demon

Original title: Dating Ayasegawa. Screenshots archived on April 20.

This is a very niche fandom, so please save it if you're into it! QuQ I'm drafting and waiting to start posting.

Kamishiraishi Asuka liked to observe people, and she came to this conclusion:

Boys who like sports all share some very distinct traits.

A fierce competitive streak, a hunger for victory, and a clear sense of purpose.

But that boy was different from everyone she'd met before.

He was sensitive, delicate, and on the verge of breaking. What stood out most to me was his almost self-sacrificing "thoughtfulness": he would "pretend he couldn't do it" so that no one else would get scolded.

What a strange boy.

I wanted to get closer and see what he was hiding.

A demon king on the field, but a crybaby off it. Terrifyingly strong, yet unbelievably fragile: a walking contradiction. He always needed others to reassure him, and his sympathy for others could be so excessive it bordered on condescension. People often misunderstood him.

Still, I hoped someone could put themselves in his shoes, the way he did for others, instead of always blaming him.

"Ayasegawa, you didn't do anything wrong. Don't blame yourself."

"Why do you care what adults think? They can spend ten or twenty years, even their whole lives, and still only look up at the achievements you reached at twelve."

Like a diamond, he's fragile and sharp. He hurts others, then hides away. He needs someone to protect him.

I stayed by his side again and again. By the time I realized it, I could no longer leave.

A sensitive, delicate genius baseball player × a sweet, kind, and beautiful girl

Genius vs. genius, a free bird and a fragile diamond (though he's actually a gravity guy)

Reading notes:

① A pure romance, a feel-good story about elementary schoolers. The male lead gets more intense later on, but the heroine adapts well and can turn every twist into pure love.

② It won't be very long. I've made some personal changes to the plot, hoping to make his painful adolescence a little easier.

③ It crosses over with sports anime like Haikyu!! and The Prince of Tennis. The male lead's talent is monstrous even among the others, but this isn't about putting anyone down.

④ This story is so niche, so if anyone reads it, please save it. I'm working hard to get it started.

Theme: Warm the hearts of others
