The Tyrant's House Elf

Yi An is a spirit who has been nurtured for a hundred years by the Tree of Life and is about to be born.

But when he finally emerges, the older brothers and sisters who promised to play with him have all disappeared. Instead, a group of people who look nothing like him attack him with torches.

Terrified, Yi An flies about in a panic. In his haste, he shrinks to the size of a palm and hides in a convoy transporting tribute, which carries him into the palace.

Yi An is scared out of his wits. He carefully hides himself, sneaking out only when all is quiet at night to eat a little fruit.

But after escaping notice several times, Yi An gradually grows bolder. Every day, he finds new ways to amuse himself and searches for a way home.

-

Li Yunjian discovers that a spirit has appeared by his side.

It doesn't bewitch people or steal their souls. It only sneaks bites of the tribute.

Before he can do anything, the spirit gets drunk on its own and gives itself away.

"Who sent you?"

The spirit: "Gugu jiji lulu da."

Li Yunjian: "..." Illiterate?

-

Yi An figures it out: the people here are so stupid, they don't even know how to talk.

Their king is a little smarter, but he's still stupid, and really annoying!

All day long, he makes the spirit learn Gugu talk. If Yi An refuses, he doesn't even get fed!

So Yi An gets so mad he eats all the flowers in the imperial garden.

One day, Yi An accidentally knocks over the ink.

Li Yunjian glances at him. "Idiot."

Yi An immediately fires back, "You're the idiot! The biggest idiot!"

Inside the hall, the ministers tremble with fear and break into cold sweats, not daring to look up. Only after a moment do they realize that their decisive and ruthless emperor has never looked at anyone with such tenderness before.
