A short, lighthearted slice-of-life story set in a small town. Funny, purely sweet, and angst-free.
With a fairytale feel, and a somewhat loose grip on realism and logic.
A naive, adorable mermaid vs. a cold fish-grill shop owner
An airhead and a grouch.
Blurb:
Gu Yin spends her days fishing hard out at sea and runs her grilled-fish shop in laid-back fashion at night.
One night, just as she was about to close up, the curtain suddenly stirred and a woman with an exceptionally avant-garde look made a dazzling entrance.
Her red hair was dripping wet, her green eyes were like jewels, and she'd fashioned an “ocean-inspired haute couture outfit” out of seaweed and seashells to cover her gorgeous figure.
Gu Yin stared silently for two seconds. “Who are you cosplaying? The bankrupt version of the Little Mermaid?”
The other woman's voice was as bewitching as a siren's, but the words that came out sounded like an octopus had scrambled her brains:
“Human, I'm pregnant. It's yours.”
Gu Yin: “???”
The woman repeated earnestly, “It's yours.”
Then she handed over a glittering seashell, with who knows what hidden inside.
Gu Yin took three steps back. “Are you sure you've got the right person? We're both women.”
The woman looked completely sincere. “That day, you, me, behind the reef... You picked at me.”
A customer eating fish nearby: “??!”
Gu Yin: “...?!”
The little mermaid, Mawina, lifted her seaweed and added, “You picked at my scales.”
Gu Yin: “...Actually, I was planning to catch a fish and grill it.”
Theme: Be kind to every little fish
