Kisses Taste Like Lemon

Short story

On my wedding day, the groom ran away.

My sworn enemy sat among the guests, laughing so hard he nearly fell over.

I gathered up my wedding dress and walked over to him, calling out with feigned annoyance and coyness, "Darling, have you had your fun? The ceremony's about to start."

His carefree smile vanished in an instant.

I knew he was behind the groom's absence.

To get revenge on him, I gambled away my happiness for the rest of my life, never noticing the flash of delight in his eyes.
