Heiress, Bodyguard, Five Years Ago

After her family falls on hard times, Cen Yang becomes a fallen heiress.

The little bodyguard she once kicked aside has transformed into a rising tech mogul.

Now she has to work under him. But even though he's climbed the social ladder, he's still petty.

Five years ago, on the day Cen Yang ran away from home, the rain was pouring. All alone, she went abroad to her boyfriend's place and begged him to let her stay.

Back then, her boyfriend had a bodyguard named Huo Ming. He was the illegitimate son of her boyfriend's father, but the young bodyguard didn't know his own parentage and diligently carried out his duties.

The first time Cen Yang saw Huo Ming, she called him a “country bumpkin.”

Huo Ming raised his puppy-like eyes to look at her and called her “Miss.”

Her boyfriend couldn't always be there for her, so he let her boss his bodyguard around.

Cen Yang treated Huo Ming like her own bodyguard, ordering him to do this and that with practiced ease.

To her, Huo Ming was an alarm clock in the morning, a housekeeper at mealtimes, a driver when she went out, a punching bag when it was hot, and a foot warmer when it was cold.

She thought he was just a little too quiet and dull.

She would slip her feet under his shirt hem and warm them against his abs. He would simply keep his eyes fixed on the TV in the living room, watching the news and massaging her legs at the same time.

Cen Yang would kick him and call him a blockhead, and he'd look utterly baffled.

Later, Cen Yang fell out with her boyfriend. She left with nothing, taking only his bodyguard with her.

Cen Yang thought that if it hadn't been for what happened, she and Huo Ming wouldn't have parted ways. But there are no what-ifs in fate.
