1. Bai Shu's ex-boyfriend has died, leaving him a valuable house.
With no sense at all, he thinks the timing couldn't be better.
After he'd already gotten the money and essence out of the guy, his frail, old-money-style ex not only died, but left him a guaranteed income.
Heaven really has been good to him!
But when he goes to claim it, crawling all the way there, he discovers that it's a haunted house no one ever visits.
The house has nine tall, narrow doors, each seemingly connected to a different world. A memorial portrait of his ex-boyfriend hangs on the very last door.
On his first day there, a string of words suddenly appears in the sky:
[Ghostwear Online is about to launch its Blue Star test server!]
Bai Shu doesn't take it seriously and continues searching the haunted house for his late ex's inheritance.
On the second day, the message changes:
[Before Ghostwear launches its Blue Star public beta, choose your home base carefully. When the dungeons descend, your location will become your guild's territory.]
Bai Shu still doesn't pay attention. Then, on the third day, the words begin to speak:
[Ghostwear Online is live! Recruit members for your guild, fight monsters, level up, earn money, and stay alive!]
The excited, babyish voice fades, and the sky turns blood-red before his eyes.
Bai Shu looks up and finally realizes something is wrong.
Overnight, Blue Star is ravaged by bloodshed, species go extinct, the supernatural descends, guilds spring up everywhere, and dungeons refresh daily.
The heavily armed Black Cross Church, the far-ahead Future Era, and hunting squads that take mutant potions.
Bai Shu looks back at the empty haunted house in a daze, then points at himself with one finger.
"You're telling me to use my late ex's useless inheritance to fight supernatural bosses?"
I demand that the launch date be rolled back!
This isn't a guaranteed income. It's a coffin!
2. With no other choice, Bai Shu goes back to his old line of work. Relying on his silver tongue and knack for sweet-talking people, he mooches off other people's guilds and sneaks through the first day's dungeon.
But in a world full of danger, nobody wants someone useless, so Bai Shu has no choice but to crawl back to the haunted house.
Then, when he casually hangs an item dropped by a boss he fought during the day on the door, the first door of the haunted house... opens.
Bai Shu stares in shock as the boss, back from the dead, walks out from behind the door.
"666, there's a second level!"
But the resurrected boss doesn't attack him. Instead, it pledges itself to him.
Bai Shu smiles slightly. He has suddenly figured out how to use the haunted house.
3. The most important thing for surviving Ghostwear is your guild's points ranking. The more dungeons you clear, the higher your rank, and the better your odds of surviving to the end!
One day, a guild called Ex-Husband's Haunted House suddenly shoots up to number one hundred, but nobody takes a guild with only one member seriously.
Until it reaches number ten... number five... number three...
And even number one...
People start marveling that the number-one guild has only one member!
Countless people scramble to join Bai Shu's guild, but he just tilts his head and smiles, surrounded by a bunch of bosses.
"Summoner build. I don't need teammates."
Then one day, all the dungeons refresh, and Ghostwear releases its final boss!
Everyone thinks Bai Shu will finally give in and form an alliance with another guild.
But in full view of everyone, Bai Shu walks straight up to the boss and beckons dismissively.
"There's one last spot in my haunted house. Ex-hubby, want to replace your memorial portrait?"
Everyone: "Huh?!"
Boss: "Mm ꕤᴗ ᴗ)♡"
