The Chief Shadow Guard Makes His Debut in the Center

Lu Xizhou opened his eyes and raised a hand to shield them from the painfully bright lights.

The spotlights blazed across the stage. The person standing beneath them was so dazzling it could bring you to tears.

He didn't know why he was here. He could only stare fixedly at the young man onstage.

The other person was shining brightly.

And the next moment, he was told that he, too, could become someone like that.

Lu Xizhou was an imperial bodyguard to the Great Qi emperor, condemned to spend his life in the shadows, never seeing the slightest ray of sunlight.

All his life, he had yearned to step out in front of others one day, but he never managed it, not even before he died.

After fending off an assassin targeting the emperor for the last time, he ran out of strength. As he fell, all he felt was regret.

But what awaited Lu Xizhou was not eternal darkness. It was a light bright enough to blind him.

He had appeared in an unfamiliar place, as a contestant on a talent competition show.

The gazes from the audience were brighter than the sun. For your attention, I'll give it everything I've got. Even if it kills me, I'll make sure I'm perfect.

"I seriously can't believe this. Is the production team really not rigging things behind the scenes? Why does Lu Xizhou keep drawing the hardest songs?"

"Just admit you're unlucky. Why blame the production team? If you're that bad, just drop out~"

His teammates slacked off, the song was a nightmare, and the stage was beset by one mishap after another... Everyone held their breath for him.

Lu Xizhou seemed plagued by bad luck every step of the way, but each time, he made the people waiting to laugh at him shut up.

What he was best at was carving a path to survival for himself when all seemed lost.

And every time, he would tell his fans, "Please keep watching me."

Don't worry. I used all the luck I had in this life to meet you.
