Studying Abroad at a Korean School, but Hunting Ghosts the Chinese Way

Gu Zhaoyan is the sole inheritor of the Mei School's ghost-hunting tradition, now in its thirty-sixth generation.

His family hasn't seen a ghost in ten generations, and Gu Zhaoyan himself has never seen one either.

To help pay his way through school, he started a metaphysics livestream while studying in South Korea, claiming he could see ghosts and predict the future.

His only tool was a little, battered bell.

Gu Zhaoyan claimed that the bell would ring whenever an evil ghost was nearby. Every other misfortune was just a bit of bad luck, not the work of demons or monsters.

"Want some good luck? Buy an Eastern metaphysics bracelet from my livestream! Not one million won, just one hundred thousand won!"

As for that supposedly battered little bell, it was a mute bell with no clapper.

One day, Gu Zhaoyan connected with a handsome Korean guy with black hair, red eyes, and an impressively broad build. As usual, he shook the bell in his hand.

Then the bell rang.

Good news: The bell wasn't broken.

Bad news: The bell wasn't broken.

* Bet you didn't see that coming. I really can...

* Our Eastern metaphysics could never lose!

* Hey, don't come any closer!

Reader's notes:

1. The story may be lightly revised before publication. I'll research and do my homework.

2. This is entirely fictional. Please don't take it seriously.

3. Ghost seme, human uke. Both leads are powerful, devoted only to each other, and in a one-on-one romance. The uke grows over the course of the story.
