Le Zhijing, a college graduate who had just escaped the hell of writing his thesis, won his first-ever repost giveaway prize at the age of twenty-three: an out-of-print book called "How to Create a World in One Minute."
It was certainly a memorable gift, so he eagerly opened it to the first page: [Step One of Creation: Mix seawater according to the proportions below, put it in a sandbox of a suitable size, and toss this book inside.]
Le Zhijing didn't understand why, but out of respect for the book, he followed its instructions and went to bed.
The next morning, he went downstairs as usual. When his gaze casually swept over the sandbox, he froze. The square transparent box, which had contained nothing but water and sand, now teemed with tiny marine creatures. A palm-sized giant whale swam slowly by, and rocks that had appeared from nowhere split open, with lava bubbling faintly below.
Of course, none of that was the main thing. Could someone tell him what those tiny mermaids swimming in the water were?
As he tried to lean closer for a better look, the babysitter casually switched on the aquarium heater.
The next second, the creatures in the sandbox all died. Lava surged up from underground and swallowed the mermaids' city. The desperate survivors evolved legs, struggled onto the sand that had dried out from the heat, built a towering altar, and tremblingly begged for his mercy.
Le Zhijing, who had witnessed the fall of an ocean civilization: ...
The newly minted Creator wiped his face and energetically picked up "The Theory of Biological Evolution."
He refused to believe that this civilization would still be destroyed with his help!
February 18: I accidentally turned off the lights, and the Sandbar Civilization was destroyed.
February 22: I sneezed, causing a massive tsunami. The Steam Civilization was destroyed.
March 1: I didn't control my strength when tossing in iron pellets, causing an earthquake. The Plant Civilization was destroyed.
March 14: I put in too much precious metal, triggering a war between nations. The Beastfolk Civilization was destroyed.
By the time the sandbox civilization had reached its twelfth generation, Le Zhijing stared at the sandbox, now collapsed from overmining, and calmly messaged his senior:
[Senior, what conditions are needed for a perfect organism to evolve?]
Let someone else raise these humans!!!
From birth, the newly appointed apprentice priest in the desert had been taught this:
The figure you see when you look up at the sky is the master of the world. It watches over this world, and has done so through twelve eras, right up to the present day.
It is generous, compassionate, and embraces all things. It waves its hand, and sweet dew falls from the heavens. It breathes, and gusts of wind sweep across the desert. When famine spreads across the land, it scatters grain, allowing countless living creatures to survive...
It is the only god in this world.
The young priest gazed up at his god, feeling that the sky was beyond his reach. Then, on the day of his succession ceremony, he knelt at the altar and made his wish:
"I want you to descend upon this land."
And so the god descended from the sky, stepped across the tiers of the altar, and came to his side.
At that moment, he announced that he would offer up all souls as a sacrifice.
