This is Jiang Han's thirty-second attempt to kill the game's villain before he grows up.
The villain in the game is powerful and insane. He's ended the lives of sixty-three characters Jiang Han has controlled. The moment Jiang Han realized he'd ended up inside the game, he slit the villain's throat without hesitation.
Someone beyond saving should simply be wiped out while they're still weak. Unfortunately, this guy is ridiculously hard to kill.
To stop the villain from growing into the same monster as in the game, Jiang Han takes him home after his first failed attempt. He wears a mask of kindness to lower the villain's guard, then plots murder attempt after murder attempt:
He poisons the villain's drink, but the villain happens to drop and shatter the glass. He stages a car crash with no way out, but the villain somehow hangs on inside the wrecked car until the police rescue him. He deliberately leads him to a place haunted by an evil spirit, but the next moment, the villain finds the spirit's vessel...
No matter what method he tries, the villain just won't die, as if some unseen force is stopping a main character from being written out of the story.
The night before he decides to kill the villain with his own hands, the villain, who has always trusted him unconditionally, knocks on his door and presses the dagger Jiang Han gave him to his neck.
The man slowly presses the blade down and whispers in his ear. It sounds like an evil spirit coming to claim a life, yet strangely like lovers speaking softly to each other:
"An eye for an eye. Now it's my turn to kill you."
The moment Xie Huai was picked up from an alley and taken home, he thought he'd truly found salvation. The man stood in the rain beneath a black umbrella, looking down at him as if he were a bag of non-recyclable trash.
But the man was backlit, and even his hair seemed to shine. Xie Huai didn't know where he found the strength, but he clutched the man's pant leg with all he had.
Take me home, he said without a sound.
So the man took him home. Jiang Han treated him badly, watching him with a cruel gaze, as though he were a dog he'd picked up off the street.
But Xie Huai didn't mind being treated like a dog by Jiang Han. If anything, he was a little thrilled, because it gave him a reason to stay by the man's side.
But it all came to an end on an ordinary night, when he finally learned who had been behind all the life-threatening dangers he'd faced: Jiang Han, the man who had taken him in, given him a new lease on life, and made him obsessively devoted.
So he broke into Jiang Han's room and pressed the same dagger that had once slashed his own throat against Jiang Han's neck. He trembled as he watched a bright red line appear on that pale skin.
If you want to kill me, then let me kill you too.
We'll go to hell together.
