The Shadow Guard Vows Never to Submit to the Green River Play

As one of the bodyguards in a Green River bodyguard novel, I watched my breathtakingly beautiful master as cold sweat ran down my temple. The icy mask was wet and clinging to my face. With trembling hands, I secured it even more tightly, afraid that my handsome, dashing face might see the light of day.

If you think I'm afraid of some rule like "bodyguards must never reveal their true faces," you're wrong.

The world I live in is a Green River bodyguard novel!

Green River + bodyguard = hundreds of thousands of words of love and hate.

So my real goal is to keep my master from seeing my face, becoming helplessly infatuated with me, and getting so lost in me that he forgets his grand ambition to rule the world.

And, of course, I don't want to get dragged into some standard routine of a man chasing me while I run away!

So, Master, don't come any closer!

Back! Back! Stay away from me!

Let's keep our master-servant relationship harmonious!

The main story is told in third person.

Absolutely no romance. No one will confess to the protagonist. The only unspoken one-sided crush, from a man, belongs to the prince.

The serious political intrigue content is basically zero. It's mainly absurd comedy.

●● [I Took the Fated Protagonists by Storm to Get My Title]

I was a crow in my early years. Later, I became the big shot of the Immortal Realm by coming up with the brilliant idea of pretending to be a System. I don't think I have anything to be proud of. That's from the feature article "Untold Tales of Northeastern Immortals and Fated Protagonists."

The above is all lies. I only said I had nothing to be proud of because I wanted to sound humble. The truth is, I'm quite pleased with myself.

Turning the old-fashioned, no-longer-mysterious ritual of asking for a title into the slick, sophisticated trick of binding myself to someone as a System was the best thing I've ever done.

Traditional title-seeking only works one-on-one, with high risks and low rewards, so people avoid it. A System can bind with several people at once, with lower risks and better rewards, so everyone clamors to get one.

So I pretended to be a System and bound myself to fated protagonists who were temporarily down on their luck. I made them do missions and took a cut, while System rewards helped them improve and complete missions for me more effectively.

Why should a System have only one player?

The clever young man who was framed and pushed off a cliff? Got him!

The fake young master kicked out of his home? Got him!

The real young master who has no intention of returning home to sacrifice himself? Got him!

Got them, all of them! I want them all!

The day I have ten thousand players will be the day I ascend to immortality!

The future looks limitless. I only need to get the project off the ground.

In my System guise, I cracked my little whip and urged the fated protagonists onward, constantly reminding them that hard work meant victory.

What?

You say they sometimes can't find me?

That's normal. Fated protagonists have to learn independence. It's definitely not because I bound too many of them and can't keep up!

●● [What Should a Quest System Do After Forgetting Its Host?]

I'm a quest System. Although I was held back and failed my exams several times at System training school and nearly got expelled, I finally graduated in last place. But none of that matters.

What's really important is that I forgot to bring my trained Host the first time I went on a transmigration mission!

Oh my heavens, how am I supposed to survive without a Host to inhabit?

Is my life as a System really going to end like this?

I haven't yet had my day in the sun or become a System Dragon-Ao. I can't accept this!

Whatever, I'll bind myself to some human as a Host for now. At worst, I'll have to write a few more self-criticisms for the Main System!

But

As a professional troublemaker, I never expected to accidentally bind myself to my own quest target as my Host.

Great. My life as a System really is hopeless now.

I looked at the long list of quest missions and then at my Host, who was also my quest target. My head felt like it was about to split.

Help! How am I supposed to finish the missions and return to the System space in this situation? I'm seriously desperate. Anyone online?
