What Should I Do After Reincarnating in the Banner of Ten Thousand Souls?

"Transmigration, cultivation." I mutter to myself, looking around at the ghosts drifting beside me, their bodies giving off clouds of colored smoke. My face looks even more ghostly than theirs.

Oh, right. I am a ghost.

Still not used to my new identity, I imitate the others and drift around. There's not a trace of excitement in my eyes at having this new ability, only an unbearable, gnawing anxiety.

Wasn't the saying that if you don't work hard at cultivating immortality, you'll end up as brothers in the Banner of Ten Thousand Souls?

Can't I at least cultivate for a while, then let the results decide whether I get put in the Banner of Ten Thousand Souls?

Isn't it a little rude to send me straight into the Banner of Ten Thousand Souls without even asking?

Damn it! How am I supposed to escape this Banner of Ten Thousand Souls?

I decide to explore my new living environment. I fly as hard as I can in one direction, but a chain suddenly appears and yanks me back by the neck. The abrupt stop nearly separates my head from my body.

...Seriously?

So this lousy Banner of Ten Thousand Souls even limits how far a soul can move.

Numbly, I return to my spot and stare blankly at the few coworkers nearby.

The bad news: No freedom. I'm trapped.

The good news: It has no master.

For now, this Banner of Ten Thousand Souls is an ownerless magical artifact!
