This is a second-chance romance.

Blurb:

When Ji Yubai and Shen Linyan were twenty-one, their three-year relationship ended in a breakup. One stayed in the city, the other left, and they never saw each other again.

After having his heart broken, Shen Linyan vowed never to return to the place that had hurt him. But at thirty, he is forced to come back when he takes over the family business.

A new boss has to learn to balance kindness with discipline. After a scolding comes a lavish afternoon tea. What Shen Linyan doesn't expect is for the person delivering the desserts to be Ji Yubai, carrying a sick child on his back.

Seeing Ji Yubai gently soothe the child, Shen Linyan can't help falling for him all over again.

But the man who once loved him with all his heart is now a father. Shen Linyan is devastated.

Why is he the one whose life is standing still? Why does Ji Yubai get to enjoy a happy family life, while he has to go home to an empty room and grieve alone? He wants revenge!

The first step: place over a hundred orders at Ji Yubai's dessert shop and work him to death!

-

A friend asks Shen Linyan if he'll get back together with Ji Yubai. Shen Linyan stubbornly replies, "Even if I spend the rest of my life alone, I'll never go back to an ex!"

Thirty days later, Shen Linyan thinks: He had a child for me. He must still have feelings for me, right?

-

After the breakup, Ji Yubai only wants to work hard and earn enough to raise his nephew. He never plans to date again, but one day a man corners him against a wall. "If you don't mind, I can be the child's other dad."

Ji Yubai: "Well, I don't think my brother-in-law would agree to that."

Little scene:

One day, Shen Linyan helps look after the child. At a gathering, people flatter him, saying the two of them look like father and son. Suspicious, Shen Linyan asks about the child's mother on the way home.

Child: "My mom isn't around anymore."

Shen Linyan: "Hm? What's your blood type?"

After learning that the child has the exact same blood type as him, Shen Linyan asks, "Are you my child?"

Child: "I don't know. My uncle never told me."
