Colorful Feathers and the Moon

*Third-person narration. A short story of 30,000 words.

Blurb: Grandma told me that there were dangerous things beyond the mountains. Anyone who tried to leave would have their memories devoured by the mountain god, then die.

They would forget everything about the mountains, and even forget where they came from.

I'm Grandma's successor. I have to inherit everything from her and protect the villagers.

But one day, Huzi sneaks out. I'm beaten half to death, and outsiders arrive in the village... The world beyond the mountains seems different from what Grandma said. Those who leave really do have their memories devoured and become completely different people.

Theme: Be strong and brave
