I'm the Foil to the Fiancée of the Chosen One

Senior and junior brothers, a sea of bitter love, and drama galore

[Upright and noble gong * Unrestrained, roguish shou]

Synopsis

I've been in love with my senior brother for years.

Then I died by his sword.

My golden core shattered on the spot, and my soul scattered.

He hated me.

But I never imagined that even after I died, his disgust for me would not fade in the slightest.

He imprisoned my remnant soul in the Soul-Locking Pagoda, then used his own heart's blood to refine me into a vengeful ghost. He made me suffer day and night, denied me rebirth for all eternity.

I knew he hated me so much only because he wanted to avenge his fiancee.

--

I was the foil to my senior brother's fiancee.

From the moment I was born, I knew my life was only meant to make another heaven-blessed prodigy shine brighter.

He was born into a noble family, raised in luxury, well-read, courteous, and refined. Even as a child, he was famous throughout Nanhe Province.

I was a peasant from the village, illiterate and uncouth. As a child, I fought the stray dogs at the village entrance for scraps, drawing stares from everyone. You couldn't exactly say I was unknown, either.

The first time my senior brother and I met, we fought until we were both black and blue, neither willing to yield.

He and my senior brother were a perfect match, shining together. They got engaged the moment they met.

Later, my senior brother brought me up the mountain.

I never got along with my senior brother's fiancee.

While he and my senior brother enjoyed moonlit strolls and lively conversation, I was locked up for talking back to him, punished by my senior brother and forbidden to leave.

My senior brother was cold and heartless, strict with me and utterly unreasonable, yet always courteous and pleasant toward him.

My senior brother liked him best and hated me most.

Later...

I killed him, and became a spirit slain by my senior brother's sword.

Sigh.
