Meet You on a Snowy Day

Paris saw many heavy snowfalls, but Jiang Huaijin only remembered two, because he met Shen Qingli twice in the snow.

The first snowfall.

He was drinking at the bar when a woman persistently tried to pick him up. She pushed a stack of euros in front of him and said, "Sir, I can buy you a better hearing aid, and I can help you leave this life behind."

Behind the woman, a young woman smiled, her eyes curving as she said, "Excuse me, ma'am, you're blocking my boyfriend. Could you move aside?"

The woman apologized and left. He thanked her, and she casually replied, "You're welcome."

The second snowfall, once again at the bar.

She had a new boyfriend. As he left the bar, she stood beneath a tree with a cup of coffee, chatting with a friend.

A photographer stood beside him and took her picture. He bought it, took it back to Berlin, and then brought it back to his home country.

When he was in Paris, a coworker told him that the young woman was a player, and that every one of her relationships lasted only seven days.

He said nothing at the time. He didn't care much.

But when she moved in across the hall and began pursuing him, he looked at her radiant face and thought:

He didn't want their relationship to last only seven days. He hoped her heart would stay with him a little longer.
