Unreluctant Spring

A gentle, sweet-talking heroine x a hero who begs to marry her every day and needs coaxing

After Shi Jinxu returned to the capital, her father was determined to use her as a stepping stone to power and wealth. Though she was the legitimate daughter, her lowly status meant she was treated like a concubine-born daughter in the household.

The only person in the capital who looked forward to her return every year was that young man.

In winter, he was always "shy and bashful," and especially easy to persuade.

"A Yan, you can't afford to catch a chill. You have to drink your ginger soup." You always poured it out, so Shi Jinxu watched you intently.

"All right." As long as A Jin was there, he would drink it. Song Shaoyan gazed at her happily and answered at once.

"You can't keep climbing over the wall."

"All right."

"And..." She was still speaking, but didn't finish.

"A Jin, can I kiss you?" Song Shaoyan asked, his ears turning red. His eyes were bashful, yet sincere.

Her face flushed, and the color lingered for a long time.

But her father's actions put her in a difficult position. After thinking it over again and again, she finally wrote a divorce agreement with tears in her eyes.

"A Jin, don't joke like this, okay?"

The thin divorce agreement fluttered to the ground. His fingers had left clear marks in the paper, and his foot came down on it. The corners of his eyes reddened as he gazed at her with infatuation, and he gripped her wrist tightly.

"A Jin, do you really like that person so much? What about me?" Song Shaoyan stared at her with red-rimmed eyes, his gaze filled with obsession.

Her eyes were still red, but she looked at him in obvious surprise.

Reading guide:

1. One-on-one romance, both leads have no prior sexual partners.

2. The whole story is sweet! The angsty parts in the blurb are required by the plot, just a little bittersweet~

3. The heroine isn't weak. She gives as good as she gets, but she's still a gentle young woman overall~
