Blurb: Shu Yu spent two years building his career, finally making a name for himself. Starting from scratch, he became a countryside lifestyle blogger with hundreds of thousands of followers.
But before he could show off his skills, he transmigrated while riding his beloved little scooter to pick up a package.
When other people transmigrate, they become princes or lords, or at least legitimate sons of noble houses. At the very least, they become poor scholars and climb the ladder to success step by step.
But Shu Yu? Good grief. Everything went black, and he landed in primitive times. When he opened his eyes, a ten-meter-long python was coiled around an animal bigger than a water buffalo, somewhat like an antelope, slowly squeezing it tighter.
Shu Yu was dumbfounded. Was he going to die before he'd even begun?
Fortunately, at the critical moment, someone dropped from the sky. Uh, a wild man. Bare-handed, he grappled with the giant python and eventually tore it into several pieces with his bare hands.
Yes, with his bare hands!
Shu Yu: !!!
They say wild men eat people. Should he run, run, or run?
While Shu Yu worried for his life, the "wild man" took him back to his cave. He gave Shu Yu a place to live and food to eat. To return the favor and show his gratitude, Shu Yu began making all kinds of delicious dishes, improving their lives.
After they had lived together peacefully for some time, Shu Yu went out to gather ingredients and unexpectedly found a child around four or five years old. Right in front of him, the child transformed into a little tiger with wings.
Shu Yu: !!!
This was actually a beastfolk continent where beastfolk existed?
Shu Yu looked at the "wild man" with shining eyes. If the little one could turn into a small beast, could the big wild man turn into a big beast too?
Yet the "wild man," who usually watched him silently, rarely avoided his gaze.
Something was definitely up!
Mo Ye was a beastman, but not a normal one. He was born completely white in beast form, and the tribe's shaman pronounced him a cursed criminal beast, condemned by the Beast God. He was spared only because his father was the tribe leader.
Beastfolk could change between beast and human form from birth. Yet even at ten years old, Mo Ye could only take beast form. Beastfolk who still couldn't transform after turning ten would gradually lose their reason and become real beasts.
That year, the winter was colder than ever. Many beastmen and demi-humans in the tribe froze to death. Some said it was all his fault: he was cursed by the Beast God, and by keeping him, the tribe had brought down the god's punishment upon itself.
Not wanting to make things difficult for his parents, he left the tribe on his own during a snowy night.
He thought he would gradually lose his mind and become just like a beast. But in his second year living alone, he transformed. After transforming, he had no white fur at all, just like any ordinary beastman, and his body was filled with boundless strength.
Mo Ye had grown used to living alone. Even after he learned to transform, he never thought of returning to the tribe. He spent one rainy season and winter after another on his own.
Then one day, he found a demi-human lost in the jungle. From then on, everything changed. He wanted to keep this demi-human named Shu Yu by his side forever. Forever!
But the tribe's talk of him being a "criminal beast" had left its mark. He was afraid Shu Yu would be scared of him and leave after seeing his beast form. So whenever he was with Shu Yu, he always stayed in human form.
Until the day Shu Yu brought home a little beastman. He knew the peaceful life he'd been seeking was over. After getting engaged, Lin Qiu had a dream. In it, his fiance went into the mountains to hunt in order to save enough money for their wedding, and died at the hands of a bear.
Upcoming novel, The Foil Husband Awakens, blurb:
After getting engaged, Lin Qiu had a dream. In it, his fiance went into the mountains to hunt in order to save enough money for their wedding, and died at the hands of a bear.
Still unmarried, he became the jinx people in the surrounding villages called a "husband-killer." His family wouldn't have him and drove him out.
When he was lost and had no idea where to go, his fiance's younger father found him, took him home, and had him bow in marriage to his fiance's memorial tablet.
His younger father was in poor health and had suffered the loss of his son. He lasted less than a month before passing away, leaving his eight-year-old son An Ge'er in Lin Qiu's care.
Lin Qiu knew his younger father had taken him in not only because they were both ge'ers and he pitied him for having nowhere to go, but also because he knew he was too ill to live much longer and wanted to find someone he could entrust An Ge'er to.
Even knowing that was his younger father's intention, Lin Qiu agreed and was grateful. He knew that if his younger father hadn't come for him that day, he might have taken his own life.
After that, he devoted himself to raising An Ge'er. The two depended on each other for ten years, and An Ge'er eventually got engaged. Their life was not prosperous, but it was stable.
As for Lin Qiu, he was alone. After years of hardship and toil, he fell ill and died in his early forties.
Only after his death did he learn that they were merely characters in a story, and that he was a minor character meant to serve as a foil to his cousin Lin Jin.
Although Lin Jin was a ge'er, everyone in the Lin family doted on him. The two cousins were treated worlds apart. When they grew up, Lin Qiu's husband died at the hands of a bear, and Lin Qiu was driven out as a jinx, living in poverty and hardship all his life. Lin Jin, on the other hand, married a scholar from the village. The scholar passed the imperial examinations, and Lin Jin became an official's husband.
It was also in this dream that Lin Qiu learned that his cousin had a soul from another world inside him.
After waking, Lin Qiu felt lost. His engagement was already settled, so breaking it off was impossible. He did not envy Lin Jin's good life, but he feared that he really would spend half his life suffering just as he had in the dream.
So he had to change his fate. He would start by changing his short-lived fiance's fate and saving him.
Top's perspective:
Xiao Yan only thought about earning money, treating his younger father, and raising his younger brother. He had never thought about getting married.
But his younger father was anxious, always afraid he would die before seeing Xiao Yan marry and have children. So Xiao Yan could only follow his younger father's arrangement and agree to an engagement.
His fiance was also a ge'er from the village, but Xiao Yan barely knew him. He didn't mind either way. Marriage was marriage. As long as his husband was a good person, his husband could manage the household while he earned money to support the family.
But not long after the engagement was arranged, that young ge'er came looking for him...

"That's why I got two pieces of dried meat", which is a big bug for the author~ Ten strips of dried meat?
I was really speechless after reading this chapter [Eh~]
I feel like the author is really gentle and kind, and the characters he writes are all very warm.
