Is It Right to Be the Savior in a Sports Anime?

From the moment he was born, Midorima Shinnosuke was bound to a Savior System. The System told him that one day he would shoulder the burden of saving the world, just like his idol, Ultraman.

But on the day he started middle school, the System suddenly gave him two pieces of news, one bad and one good.

The bad news was that they had landed in the wrong show. This was a peaceful sports series that had no need for a savior, and the System couldn't contact headquarters to switch worlds.

The good news was that as long as he kept completing missions, Midorima Shinnosuke could still become a savior.

The System tried to persuade him: [Why don't we give up on the missions, Host?]

Midorima Shinnosuke: [?]

Midorima Shinnosuke: [No way! I'll never give up on my dream!]

System: [???]

If there's no crisis, then create one.

Midorima Shinnosuke believed that as long as he worked hard, he could find a crisis around every corner.

On his first day at Teiko, he stole every basketball from the basketball club all by himself, declaring they could only get them back by defeating him.

On his tenth day at Rikkai, he successfully got Sanada to chase him around the entire tennis club fifty times.

On his nth day of high school, he delivered a declaration of independence in Blue Lock.

After all that hard work, Midorima Shinnosuke was quite pleased: [Look, System! I'm about to become Ultraman!]

System: [...]

The System stared at the nearly completed mission, its pupils trembling in shock.

How could this possibly work? What kind of savior is this? He's more like the ultimate villain!

Kirihara asked curiously, "Midorima, why do you always wear that headband?"

Midorima Shinnosuke pulled him aside and said mysteriously, "It's there to seal away my power as a savior. If I take it off, the seal will be broken..."

Kirihara: "...Even I wouldn't believe something like that."

Then one day, Midorima Shinnosuke took off his headband on the court, and his whole body was suddenly engulfed in an unknown red beam of light.

"Take this! My move, Within the Muddied, Muddled Stream!"

Everyone else stared at the court, which looked as if it had been hit by a meteorite: "..."

Wait, so it was actually true?

● The protagonist is truly something else (wipes sweat)

● But he's really strong!

Theme: Everyone is special.
