Wen Bao is Xi Qin's stepmother, the wife of his father, Xi Wenhe. He's a foolish, materialistic young man with nothing going for him but his looks.

Wen Bao had been poor for over ten years and couldn't take it anymore. At last, he remembered he could climb the social ladder by attaching himself to a man. At first he relied on Xi Wenhe, but just as he got comfortable, the man died. Wen Bao cried for a couple of days, then decided it was actually a good thing. Didn't that mean the whole Xi family belonged to him now? Everything else was fake; only money was real. That was what Wen Bao thought after being scared of poverty for so long.

All he had to do was defeat Xi Qin!

But it was hard. Xi Qin was young and full of himself, and Wen Bao never came out ahead when they clashed. He couldn't get his hands on the money, either.

Later, Xi Qin made it clear he had no plans to throw Wen Bao out. Wen Bao accepted his fate and relaxed. He had relied on Xi Wenhe before; now he could rely on Xi Qin.

As long as he could live comfortably and never have to sleep rough again, that was enough.

Wen Bao did eventually stop being poor, but he lost his comfortable life, too.

Xi Wenhe appeared before Wen Bao, alive.

Wen Bao trembled. "Honey, you, you aren't dead!"

"Were you hoping I was?" Xi Wenhe asked slowly as he held Wen Bao.

Wen Bao shouted, "No! I'm just so happy!"

Xi Wenhe: "Oh? Then why are you shaking? Did you do something behind my back?"

Wen Bao, who had just climbed out of Xi Qin's bed, answered nervously, "I didn't, honey..."

1. After Xi Wenhe fakes his death, his marriage to Wen Bao is dissolved. Xi Qin and Wen Bao are not legally stepmother and stepson.

2. The romance is one-on-one for certain parts of the story.

3. The male leads are all virgins.

4. Xi Wenhe and Xi Qin are not biological father and son.

5. Not for possessive fans.

6. Everything happens for a reason. Wen Bao is actually a poor little thing, and he'll correct his mistaken beliefs later.
