Yuji Itadori, Don't Be the One Passing the Ball!!!

Yuji Itadori was fast and incredibly strong. Ever since childhood, he had played volleyball with his sunny, cheerful buddy, though the two of them couldn't even make up a full team.

He set for his friend, so becoming a setter seemed perfectly reasonable, right?

Yuji Itadori, a powerful and speedy first-year rookie setter, sent a set straight into the net for Hajime Iwaizumi.

Yuji Itadori: I'm sorry!!!

High school’s number-one setter, Toru Oikawa: Iwa-chan, hahaha, that's hilarious, hahaha!

Power hitter Hajime Iwaizumi, who'd just been taken out by a spike: ?!!!

The entire Aoba Johsai team: Yuji Itadori! Stop being a setter!!! You'll die! You'll have to face a setter's “spike” sets on the court, and you'll die!!!

After switching to become a hitter, Yuji Itadori became Aoba Johsai's strongest “cannon,” working in tandem with Toru Oikawa. Together, they led Aoba Johsai out of Miyagi and into the national tournament, winning both the National Tournament and Spring High championships!

Toru Oikawa: Heh heh, Ushiwaka, do you regret not coming to Aoba Johsai now?~ (provoking him)

Shiratorizawa hitter Wakatoshi Ushijima, the target of the taunt: Ah, he's strong. You should all have come to Shiratorizawa.

Toru Oikawa: (face darkening) ...

Yuji Itadori: (puts on a sunny, brilliant smile and plays dumb)

Shiratorizawa middle blocker: Huh? Did you take Yuji as a substitute for Wakatoshi? What an unexpected scumbag... (in that kind of tone) Yuji, why not try hitting left-handed? Maybe Toru Oikawa would like you even more~

Yuji Itadori: (grinning foolishly) I should be able to use my left hand, too. I'm right-handed, but I can use my left as well.

Toru Oikawa: (was about to explain the scumbag thing) (but hears this) (face darkening) Damn genius!

At first, Yuji just wanted to be a volleyball buddy for Shoyo Hinata. But after joining Aoba Johsai, he fell completely in love with volleyball.

He fell in love with the wide-open court on the other side of the net, cleared out by Oikawa-senpai. He fell in love with the moment a powerful serve broke through the opposing team's block. He fell in love with every moment of winning on the court.

And...

Oikawa-senpai! I like you!

Toru Oikawa: No way, Aoba Johsai doesn't raise tigers.

Yuji Itadori: Huh? (petrified, then crumbling to dust...) Oikawa-senpai, just like me a tiny bit, please, just a tiny bit (clutches his legs and sobs uncontrollably)

How could that be? A forest is the perfect place to raise the king of beasts, a tiger.
