How Can We Possibly Fall in Love?

With her wedding date approaching, Li Yi'an discovers that her boyfriend is cheating on her. In high heels, she storms into a hotel to catch him in the act.

There, she runs into the other woman's official boyfriend, her high school classmate Cheng Ye.

The two meet eyes in the hotel corridor. He gives the room keycard in his hand a little shake. "Team up?"

Li Yi'an agrees without a second thought.

She assumes they'll go their separate ways after getting their revenge together. But at Monday's morning meeting, she watches Cheng Ye walk into the conference room as the new CEO.

Amid the applause, the man raises an eyebrow at her alone.

As fate would have it, they become good friends.

Until the night of the annual party, when, tipsy from champagne, Cheng Ye suddenly traps her between himself and the terrace railing.

The lights fall across his sharply defined features, and Li Yi'an's heart races.

His low voice brushes past her ear. "Li Yi'an, what if... we gave this a try?"

She blurts out, "How could we possibly date?"

He asks back with a smile, "Why couldn't we?"

Bonus scene:

In the office, Cheng Ye pulls her into his arms and kisses her again and again. The footsteps and laughter of their coworkers outside come and go.

Li Yi'an pokes him in the chest and lowers her voice. "Mr. Cheng, getting pretty wild, aren't you?"

Cheng Ye grabs her restless fingers. His Adam's apple bobs, and his voice turns husky. "An office party. Don't you want to try it? It's so thrilling."
