The Continent of Primordial Fire is a Western fantasy-style VRMMO. Gu Chen was a beta tester, and then he transmigrated.

The good news: he spawned in a lovely, peaceful beginner village.

The bad news: an SSS-rank monster was lurking beside the village, the game's officially designated cruel villain, the Winter Emperor Dragon capable of destroying the world.

The good news: the terrifying villainous dragon was still just an egg. Though it kept giving off an air of being "corrupted," it was still a round, rather delicious-looking egg.

Out of curiosity, Gu Chen touched the shell. A line of text popped up over the black egg: [Corruption +99, Anger +999]

Gu Chen: "?"

For the sake of world peace, Gu Chen decided to make himself a little something extra. He boiled a pot of water and dropped the dragon egg in.

The dragon egg bobbed in the pot, bubbling away as a line of text appeared: [Comfort +1, Corruption -1]

Gu Chen: "..."

Later, Gu Chen decided to explore this unfamiliar magical continent with the dragon egg and become a mage.

The bad news: he inherited his beta server stats, including an astonishing 2 mana.

The good news: he also inherited his gold count, the unlimited amount of gold the officials had specially granted him as a beta tester.

And it still worked in this world.

Many years later, at a magic exchange in the imperial capital, a new student excitedly approached the most renowned mage on the continent. "May I ask how you achieved what you have today?"

The great mage lowered his head gently and smiled. "Hard work, dedication, and... I have a lot of money."

Gu Chen raised a little dragon for many years. He watched it change from a corrupted egg that puffed out black smoke to a baby dragon that loved to tug on his clothes and chew on them, and finally into an adult dragon. It spread its wings and flew off without looking back, heading for the distant frozen plains.

Later, the black dragon swooped back over the wilderness and landed beside him once more, lowering its head obediently.

Gu Chen patted the black dragon's head. Its brilliant dragon eyes narrowed slightly, and its proud head nudged into his arms as it caught the hem of his clothes in its teeth.
