[Bad Ending] [Noncon] [Master and Disciple] Read the warnings before reading
Lin Buqiu, the Immortal Lord Langyue of Yundu Mountain, was upright, pure-hearted, and aloof. People praised him as the one among the countless cultivators in the world who came closest to becoming a god.
The Immortal Lord Langyue loved all people. Most of the disciples he took in were destitute children with no parents or anyone to rely on. They grew up under Lin Buqiu's guidance, carried on his ideals, traveled the world to uphold justice, and passed down generation after generation of tales of Yundu Mountain's good deeds.
Until one day, the Heavenly Demon descended, leaving the land desolate and its people in misery.
The mortal realm was plunged into suffering, with no survivors. The sects of the cultivation world were too busy fending for themselves, and rivers of blood flowed. Yundu Mountain, too, could not escape disaster.
Everyone at Yundu Mountain was slaughtered, and Lin Buqiu vanished without a trace.
Everyone believed that the Immortal Lord Langyue had probably died beneath the Heavenly Demon's blade as well.
But deep within the demon palace, where no one could see him, the Immortal Lord Langyue was covered in bloody welts, his hands and feet bound in heavy shackles, blood tears piercing his eyes.
"Master, you said you would always protect me and love me."
The Lord of the Heavenly Demons abandoned his usual haughty demeanor, bent down and pulled him into his arms, gently wiping the blood from his cheek.
"So don't cry. Love me properly."

No matter how many years passed, Lin Buqiu always remembered one afternoon from long ago.
The sun was warm that day. Beneath the flowering trees on Yundu Mountain stood a thin, filthy boy. Stubborn and quiet, he said only that he had nowhere else to go, so he had come to Yundu Mountain to ask the Immortal Lord Langyue to take him as his disciple.
His close friend pulled Lin Buqiu aside, worry filling his eyes.
"This child's bloodline is impure, and his aura can't be discerned. He may not be a good person."
Lin Buqiu only shook his head with a faint smile.
"Demon or human, a child is innocent. We need only teach him with care."
He walked slowly up to the boy and asked gently, "What is your name?"
The boy looked up at him without flinching.
"Cuicuo."
"Cuicuo means flourishing. What a lovely name."
Cuicuo, Cuicuo.
Perhaps everything had been wrong from the very beginning.
#He wasn't my moon, but for one moment, his moonlight did shine upon me#
A gentle, cool, and distant immortal who is like a breeze and clear moon, the shou
x
A domineering, haughty demon king who can destroy the world, the gong
1v1 bad ending (only the couple's ending is bad; for everyone in the story except the gong, it might be the greatest happy ending of all)
The gong is the biggest villain throughout the story. Whether his malice is deliberate or the harm he causes is indirect, he is wrong from beginning to end. His love for the shou is real, and so is the harm he inflicts on the shou and everyone else. He grows as a person, but he is not redeemed. He has to die.
Human nature is complex. It's hard to say whether the shou truly loves him. Draw your own conclusions.
