How a Nobody Can Save the Comic Book World

[The main story is complete. Side stories will update irregularly. The next book, Does the Cultivation World Have a National Destiny System Too?!, is now underway. Welcome!] Xia Chu realized very early on that something was wrong with this world. A subway station that looped, a moon that could blink, a skyscraper where people fell to their deaths every day but that was never sealed off... But none of that had anything to do with Xia Chu. She thought she was living an ordinary life in this world. Until one day, an entity called the “System” came looking for her. Xia Chu: You're saying I live in a horror comic, and it got abandoned mid-story because too many readers were unhappy, which is why you came into being? Xia Chu: I have a question. Why pick me to save the world? The System fell silent for a second, then answered honestly: Because of your supernatural ability. Oh... So that's what her ability was called? Without the System to remind her, Xia Chu might have forgotten that she had long since become part of this abnormal world herself. So Xia Chu, who had never appeared in the comic, quietly took on secret identities and diligently set about saving the world. She killed anyone who stood in her way, human or god. Thinking she would remain as inconspicuous as before, she never expected that, as she saved the world, she would become the most popular character and be fought over by both the heroes and villains. She had no idea what was going on, but at least it seemed the world wouldn't be destroyed...? What a happy ending! Wonderful! - This is what the readers had to say: [That mysterious person is so gorgeous and so cool. Big sis, you're the Wi-Fi my destiny chose for me.] [Thanks, Li, for saving my fave's life. You're my sister from another mother and father!!] [What exactly is the relationship between the mysterious person, Li, and Xia Chu? Are they all the same person?] ++++++++++++++++++++++ Before You Read: 1. An overpowered wish-fulfillment story, with a little bit of people overinterpreting things and lots of secret identities. 2. There really is no romance. Some characters have unrequited feelings for the heroine, because I like having other characters express positive feelings toward her. The heroine is focused entirely on saving the world, and never notices or responds to those feelings. In the end, everything is familial or platonic love. 3. Includes reader discussions, live comments, and forum posts. 4. In theory, the heroine is the strongest, but she herself hasn't realized it. The story is written ahead of time. Updates at 18:00. And here's a preview of my next book, Does the Cultivation World Have a National Destiny System Too?! Ji Linlang woke up one morning to find she had transmigrated to a cultivation world. Outside the sect, you could meet ten lunatics out of ten people. Stay inside the sect, and you could meet eleven lunatics out of ten. It was a world gone mad. Unfortunately, Ji Linlang had no golden finger and no kingly aura. She kept her head down and made herself small in the sect for five hundred years, outlasting countless prodigies before finally earning the title of Senior Sister. Over those five hundred years, Ji Linlang witnessed the sect's senior brother look down on a poor country boy, leading to the deaths of the senior brother, his master, his master's master, and his master's master's master; the junior sister fall into a tragic romance with a demonic cultivator, leaving half the cultivation world devastated; a prodigious senior brother appear out of nowhere, only to turn out to be pursuing the Dao by killing his wife, and then get killed in turn when she came after him (that lady wiped out half a sect while taking down the scumbag); and a fellow cultivator expelled from the sect establish his own school, which became the greatest sect in the world and then turned around to oppress the sect that had cast him out... In the 501st year of being tormented by these lunatics, Ji Linlang finally snapped too. She took the few sane people left in the sect and defected. As she dramatically pointed her sword at the eight grand elders and announced the name of the sect she had just founded, a voice rang out across the entire cultivation world. [Ding! The fortune of this world has been depleted. Activating the National Destiny System.] [No nations detected in this world. The world has been divided into sects instead. One contestant will be selected at random from each sect. All contestants will be transported to the arena. Contestants will be unable to use spiritual power in the arena, and their physical abilities will be reduced to those of ordinary mortals.] [To put it in terms you're familiar with: the winner is king, and the loser is a criminal. Good luck!] The next second, Ji Linlang, who had finally let herself go for once, was selected by the National Destiny System and transmigrated for a second time. Seeing the familiar high-rises, Ji Linlang burst into tears. National Destiny System, why didn't you come sooner? If you'd come earlier, why would I have bothered cultivating? I could've gone home in the blink of an eye! - At the same time, a giant screen appeared in the sky above the cultivation world, visible from everywhere. The people of the cultivation world: What is this iron box that can hold people? How did our sect's prodigy get eliminated?? Who is this Ji Linlang, and how is she so at home here??? Theme: As long as you have hope and the courage to act, anyone can do something extraordinary and build a wonderful life of their own.
