Basically, Noctis Abel thinks he’s an utterly ordinary bat with nothing special about him. Like the bats in stories, he grew up in a grand, sprawling castle, well cared for by his butler. His mother visits once a month, and his only regular connection to the outside world is the computer... Until one day, he receives a message. 【Can you do me a favor?】 After replying, “Sure,” Noctis transmigrates. To learn from his mentor, Manhattan Scholar also begins observing different worldlines. During his observations, however, he discovers a serious problem with the underlying structure of this world. It seems that several fragmentary worlds have drifted close, triggering a mysterious fusion. In the process, two people who “should have” died survive. They decide Gotham is far too dangerous and flee to Europe. That escape might have been fine, except now the world is on the brink of destruction. Manhattan Scholar is entrusted with saving it at this critical moment, and decides to find someone from a parallel universe to do the job. But even he doesn’t realize he’s picked the wrong bat. He searches by keyword without specifying personality, and ends up grabbing a vampire musician. Maybe I should just die, Manhattan Scholar thinks calmly. That night, a family on their way to an alley miraculously survives. For the sake of their child’s safety, the parents pack overnight and leave for Europe with their old butler without telling anyone, even abandoning the family business... After all, their lives and their child’s are more important than money. Twenty years after leaving America, a famous detective who has made a name for himself in Europe decides to return to his hometown. At a violin recital, he encounters his destiny... Well, not quite. With fate working against him in all sorts of ways, he can’t yet set out on that path. But as the greatest playboy detective in history, he’s sure to be extraordinary! Before that, though, he needs to make sure his substitute, Noctis Abel, stops being an idiot! Is knocking someone out with a punch after failing to solve the case really something to be proud of? It feels like Gotham is already beyond saving. For an unknown young reporter at the Daily Planet, it seems he’s always lived in the shadow of someone with the exact same name. But what can he do? The other guy was born almost ten years earlier. Determined to make a name for himself and leave a lasting mark on his life, he makes a bold decision: he’s going to Gotham to chase a huge story, the kind no one else could get. So he packs his bags and heads to Gotham, where he successfully catches a certain soft, fluffy little bat. From then on, the reporter becomes a bat keeper. Reader’s Note: The protagonist, Noctis, is the pursuer. He’s a violinist with a screw loose, poor social skills, and little common sense, basically a half-wild animal.
