[Infrastructure Building] [Farming] [Magic]
Syl has been in a magical world for over twenty years since he transmigrated.
He received a farming System at birth, but...
Syl crumpled the System up and shoved it into some dusty corner, ignoring all its demands and suggestions about farming and swinging a hoe.
What a joke. This is a world of magic!
Why farm when you can go on adventures after transmigrating?
Syl learned swordsmanship from his father and the captain of the knights from a young age, then went to magic school to study magic. He practically armed himself to the teeth to avoid dying in an accident during an adventure, becoming the most hardcore magic student in the eyes of his classmates and their parents!
Then, while adventuring abroad, Syl suddenly learned that his father had died. All he inherited was a paltry baronial title, and he was driven out to a barren, godforsaken territory.
Forced by the hardships of life, Syl had no choice but to take his younger sister to the territory and begin a life of infrastructure building and farming.
He dug out the System he had tossed somewhere and never activated, then sighed wistfully. "Never thought I'd need you after all. Turns out farming really is the destiny of people from China."
After all that studying and adventuring, he still had to farm. Was this really fate?
The System, which had nearly shut down from lack of energy: "..."
Sure, sure. You think you're too good for me. You only remember I exist after you've had your fill of everything else.
Hah. Men never mean a word they say.
"Huh? Is it really broken?"
Syl waited a long time without hearing a peep from the System, then shook the dimly glowing orb in his hand. "Oh well, forget it. I'll toss it. I can manage without a System. At worst, I just won't have good rice, wheat, corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes... That's all. I can always invite my old classmates and friends to help me develop and rebuild the place."
"Should I ask the elves for help? I hear their water is good for the soil. This land does seem a little barren," he mused, thinking of the elf he didn't get along with. "Though that could be a hassle."
"Big bro, please, let's talk this out!"
The System was horrified. So I'm just a backup option?
Fine, fine, don't be rash. When it comes to farming and infrastructure building, who's better than a System? Compared to me, the others are all trash.
Let's not get into anything else. Just bind with me already! I'm really about to run out of energy!
Syl smiled and flashed a victory sign in his mind. Success!
Years later, Syl stood atop the city wall, staff and sword in hand.
Within the walls, countless travelers had come from far and wide to see the place. People strolled through the city with smiles on their faces. Students and children ran laughing through the streets, while couples and bards wandered through the central park, singing.
Beyond the city, golden waves of wheat rippled across the fields. Merchant caravans lined up to enter the city with their goods. Magical beasts watched hungrily, yet gazed up at the city in fear...
This land had come alive. Once a cursed place everyone avoided, it had become a thriving destination everyone yearned to visit.
