Shen Xing is an orthopedic surgeon who has been single for 28 years and never gets involved with anyone. Unable to bear the complaints, assaults, and accusations of being a scumbag, he is forced to take a relief assignment in Yunnan. When it rains, it pours. They'd make a good match with his Samoyed, Qianjin. For some reason, he gets held up for an hour at the border checkpoint. After he gets through, a violent storm breaks out, and several sections of the national highway collapse. The Land Cruiser stays right on his tail. Shen Xing pulls over several times to let the Land Cruiser pass, but the guy refuses. Come on, sir, you drive a modified off-road vehicle, and you're letting a helpless Audi A6 go first and test the road? What kind of sense does that make? Ten minutes later, disaster strikes. His tire blows, leaving his car hanging over the roadside embankment. The Land Cruiser guy braves the rain, grabs a fire axe, and yanks him out. Once he's out, Shen Xing is at a loss. The black-backed German Shepherd is a retired narcotics dog. The young doctor narrows his eyes at Officer Jiang. “So you suspected me that day? I knew there was no such thing as a bodhisattva who helps for no reason.” Officer Jiang waves his meal card, making it rain. “How about this bodhisattva buys you three months of meals to apologize?” Dr. Shen gives a couple of snorts. That night, he comes out looking for a snack because he's hungry, only to see the door opposite open. Jiang Lin blinks at him. “Want to go get something to eat, Dr. Shen?” The next day, Shen Xing receives a medical file from the department director. Whoa, this leg looks like it was in a car wreck. He looks at the name and sees Jiang Lin. Wait, the guy was so good at changing tires, but he's practically half crippled? And just like that, Shen Xing finds himself with a meal buddy, a neighbor, and a patient all in one: Officer Jiang. His dull assignment in Yunnan becomes a lot more bearable. After filling his stomach, Dr. Shen hugs the familiar black panther around the neck. “By the way, Lord Bao, I've got a Samoyed at home named Qianjin. She's white and fluffy.
