Crossing Mountains and Seas [Republican Era]

Republican Era Arc: His father was critically ill. On the day Song Zeyan returned from abroad, a woman burst into the house, so panicked and terrified that he could never forget her.

Modern Arc: Feng Yingchu, studying abroad, was on her way back to her residence when several drunk men surrounded her and blocked her beneath an apartment building. To escape them, she ran upstairs and, in her panic, pushed open a half-closed door.

Song Zeyan. She remembered that name.

When she went to thank him the next day, she discovered that the entire apartment building looked far more dilapidated than it had the night before.

At the landlord's home, Feng Yingchu saw several photographs from a hundred years ago. The man in them was Song Zeyan, the same man she had met that night, and he had attended the same university as her. She had read the books he had read and attended the classes he had attended...

Republican Era Arc: After taking care of his father's funeral, Song Zeyan received a letter from his university. It was from the girl he had taken in for half an hour that night.
