Kate has a good-for-nothing junior apprentice named Xiniya Moro. They're both Jin's students. He's already a one-star Magical Beast Hunter, but his junior hasn't even learned Nen.
Xiniya is beautiful and warmhearted, and often chases after him to confess: "Senior, I really like you. Will you be my boyfriend?"
He'd be happy to, but... his junior is far too useless. He has to find a way to motivate her to improve.
So, after turning down her confession for the Nth time, he tells her that he'll agree to be her boyfriend if she can find a rare creature all on her own.
Xiniya leaves, looking dejected, and doesn't contact him again.
Without Xiniya's voice, his days are surprisingly dull.
After three months of drifting aimlessly through NGL, Kate finally regrets his decision. Just as he's about to contact Xiniya himself, his junior appears before him with a leopard cat.
"Senior, senior! I found a rare creature! Can you be my boyfriend now?"
What rare creature could an ordinary cat possibly be?
But if Xiniya says it is, then it is. Even if she pointed at a cat and said it was a person in disguise, he'd believe her!
Just as Kate is about to give her a proper answer, the leopard cat in his junior's arms really does turn into a blue-haired man.
The man grabs Xiniya by the chin and snarls, "Woman, don't you dare look at him again!"
The good news: his junior has finally grown up!
The bad news: she seems about to be stolen away...
Neither good nor bad news: his rival is from the otherworldly Hueco Mundo, and can take down a Royal Guard Ant with one punch...
