There Are Herons

Ten years into their marriage, Xu Youqiu put the divorce papers in front of Lian Sen for the seventh time.

"Let's get divorced. I'm tired of this."

Lian Sen tapped his fingers on the table. "Tired of it?" He glanced down, signed his name without hesitation, then left home for a nightclub to complain to his friends. "If I ever beg him to remarry me again, I'm a dog."

Xu Youqiu told his childhood friend the same thing: "If I agree to get back together with him again, I'm a dog."

Six months after the divorce.

Lian Sen tugged at his collar and impatiently stood on the first floor, barking like a dog. "Woof, woof, woof."

The same barking came from upstairs.
