It Has to Be Me [Esports]

During the transfer window, when all seemed lost, things took an unexpected turn: TG picked up the powerful mid laner Duan Qiu, giving the team a huge boost on paper.

Li Qianqing was a top laner who had been playing professionally for five years. He had won Best Rookie and earned the nickname "trick-play top laner," but his champion pool kept shrinking. The TG team also made it to the World Championship as a bottom-ranked team year after year, only to get swept 3-0 in the knockout stage.

Still, a fire burned in his heart. He couldn't bring himself to retire while he still dreamed of winning the championship.

No one knew that Duan Qiu was his ex-boyfriend of two years. Li Qianqing didn't want any unnecessary interaction outside the arena, but Duan Qiu's transfer to TG meant they had no choice but to deal with each other.

Duan Qiu was aloof off the rift and a sharp shot-caller in-game. He hit the nail on the head: "Who says the top laner has to sacrifice? You lose a few games and lose your will to fight? You might as well retire now."

Off the rift, he was reserved, shy, and persistent. "I've never forgotten you."

And so Li Qianqing began a career of getting yelled at by his mid laner during games, then having to appease him afterward.
