Sealed Dawn (Or Maybe It's This One)

"Tonight, my voice is a train brought to a halt,

Your name, the long Russian border."

Liao Weitang

A gentle, independent flower of the human world × a refined, self-possessed dream man of the mature set

Secret crush and healing | Fatherly devotion | Foster-family trope

-

At sixteen, Wen Li's family was destroyed, and she met Xue Zan, her mother's childhood friend and the only person she could rely on.

He came toward her, his presence as cold as snow. He wore black from head to toe, with only a white flower on his chest. High-bridged nose, deep-set eyes, thin lips, a sharply defined jaw: judging by his features alone, he looked far from kind.

Yet he crouched before her and became the first person to brush away the tears in her eyes.

-

After graduating from college, Wen Li set out along the bright path Xue Zan had paved with flowers for her.

At its end was a stage where he would spend his life with someone else.

"Uncle Xue."

"Xue Zan..."

The crowd of guests was so thick and noisy that it stopped her from reaching him.

"This is the last time I'll call your name. If you've read that poem, then you should know: in my rust-stained life, you are the only brightness."

[Reader's Guide]
