Why Do I, a Farm Owner, Have to Play Volleyball?

30% anti-theft delay, 72 hours (I’ll write a separate extra to reveal that this world has magic. Nobody will find out in the main story.) One day, the farmer brought his beloved Iridium Rod to the Secret Woods. To his surprise, he discovered a new path had appeared in the forest! Overjoyed, the farmer walked right in without hesitation. A flash of white light suddenly filled his vision, and Grandpa’s letter appeared in his hand. The farmer himself had ended up inside an unfamiliar house. Grandpa: My dear child, by the time you find this note, you must have been living in Stardew Valley for quite a while... Go on. This place holds all my secrets. Join the volleyball team at Inarizaki High! This is your proof of identity. I’ll come back to see you in your fourth year on the team. That can’t be right, Grandpa! The farmer stared wide-eyed. Am I supposed to play volleyball? Seriously? One day, while eating the farmer’s fragrant berries, Atsumu asked curiously, “I’ve never had this fruit before. Where did you buy it, Haruya?” The farmer, Makari Haruya, smiled faintly. “I grew them myself.” Aran stopped stuffing his face. “You mean you go back to farming after practice?” Makari Haruya: “Yeah. I’m the only one at home, after all.” The farmer’s broad shoulders bore so much responsibility. Everyone: No wonder this guy’s got so much stamina! Wait, is he really poor? I suddenly feel so sorry for him... These berries don’t taste as good anymore. It wasn’t until Makari Haruya invited them out to the countryside that everyone at Inarizaki fell silent at the sight of the vast fields and all the different buildings. Give us back our sympathy and pity! At their first meeting, Atsumu had been insisting he wouldn’t teach a beginner, but when the farmer offered him Starfruit Tea, he suddenly took it. Atsumu: “Oh, thanks! This looks delicious.” He froze for a moment after speaking. Huh? Did I just take it? Oh well, it really does look good. I’ll have a sip. Osamu took a cup too. “It smells delicious! Do you have any more?” Everyone else: You two have got to be kidding. “Ribbit, ribbit!” Coach Kurosu was still pondering before opening the door. Why are there so many frogs croaking in autumn? Maybe it’s time to have security take care of them. He flung the door open with a bang, and the frog calls, faint just a moment ago, suddenly rang out loud and clear. The sight of each fox holding a frog caught Coach Kurosu completely off guard. Coach Kurosu: !!! “Where did you get those frogs?! And why are they all different colors?” The Miya twins admired their hair, styled with magical hair gel, and exchanged excited grins. “We’re not supposed to let outsiders see this, but Mom doesn’t count as an outsider, right?” They looked at each other, shoved open the door, and dashed out. “Mom! Look at us!” Their mother slowly clutched her chest and sat down on the golden pumpkin the twins had brought home earlier... The farmer chatted with Kita about farming tips and earned an approving smile from him. After a full day of matches, the farmer was pleased to see that his energy bar had only dropped by half. He happily went home to harvest his crops, finished at 1:55, and peacefully closed his eyes in bed. A few tips The farmer isn’t the fourth calamity type. He’s a farmer born and raised, not a player. You can read this even if you haven’t played the game! I’ll explain any game items in the author’s notes. The foxes will take part in Pelican Town’s festivals and experience a serious culture shock. [Upcoming] [Another Farmer Story] “Everyone Who Loses to Me Is Coming to Farm” After being reborn, Ren Asahi finds that his teammates and school have all changed. Feeling like he’s ended up in another world, Ren Asahi decides to stay away from Tokyo. Half a month before he’s due to start at Aoba Johsai, he suddenly receives a letter. Since you’ve decided to go to school in Miyagi, why not visit your grandfather’s farm while you’re there? Love, Mom. What? My grandfather, who died ages ago, had a farm? Ren Asahi follows the address and finds the farm. Looking at the little house nestled in the forest, weathered but not run-down, he looks pleased. “Not bad. It’s small, but cozy.” Lewis smiles and pulls out a map. A farm even larger than the town itself spreads out before him. Ren Asahi: ?? Wait a second. This is Grandpa’s entire estate, isn’t it?! The newly minted farmer looks out over a stretch of farmland so vast it could be a wildlife park, and lets out a pained wail. “Aaaah!” How am I supposed to farm all this land by myself?! Oh well, time to find myself some extra hands. First, I’ll join the volleyball team, and then... The farmer wears a wicked grin. Everyone who loses to me is coming to farm! Lying in his recliner, he raises a megaphone and calls out: “Students who want to learn how to serve or play a match against me, how about trading some farm work for a chance?” “It’s just farming!” Hinata swings his hoe excitedly. Once I finish this patch, Asahi is going to teach me that super cool serve! Kageyama waters furiously beside him. He wants to learn that powerful jump serve too! The two exchange a look and pick up the pace in perfect sync, shouting inwardly: We absolutely can’t let him leave us behind! “Farming will make us stronger?!” Kotaro Bokuto thinks it over for a moment, then grabs Ren Asahi’s hands while Keiji Akaashi looks on in horror. “No problem! Give me the biggest plot you’ve got, hey hey hey! I’m going to become the strongest ace!” Don’t trick the gullible ones! The owls all cry out in unison. The list of farmhands keeps growing... Years later, on a show interviewing the Monster Generation, everyone shares the memory that stuck with them most. They all lost to one guy, who then dragged them off to farm under the excuse that it would make them stronger. Host: ? That many of you, and you all say the same thing...? Host: Is that player still competing professionally? Atsumu’s face twists with rage. He stares into the camera and shouts: “Damn you, Ren Asahi! Get back here and play volleyball with me!” I can definitely beat you now! Ren Asahi, relaxing with a cup of tea on his perfect farm, switches off the TV. Heh heh~ A few tips The protagonist is overpowered, and Aoba Johsai will win the championship. The farm is as huge as all the different farm types combined! (There’s no way one person could farm it all.) It’s not pixel art, and this isn’t a fourth calamity story. It’s about a reborn, brand-new farmer. The farm starts out desperately poor, with nothing at all, and everyone builds it up together! So there’ll be more Stardew Valley story than in the other Farmer story, but everyone will still be able to follow along. Trust me. Theme: Happy farming, happy volleyball
