How to Raise an Antisocial Mermaid

Ji Qing woke up one morning to find herself inside the novel she'd been reading before bed, as a minor villain whom readers wanted to hack to pieces for her inhuman torture of the heroine.

The minor villain had been an ordinary unemployed woman until she happened to find the heroine, a mermaid, also known in the novel as a jiao ren.

The mermaid's tears turned into exquisite pearls, her blood could crystallize into rare, precious gems, her song could soothe people's hearts, and her beauty was enough to make even the most beautiful humans feel inadequate.

Even better, mermaids had an incredible ability to heal themselves.

The minor villain kept the mermaid locked in her basement and made a fortune from her blood and tears, until she heard something from someone.

Mermaid flesh... could make people immortal.

But after she ate the heroine's flesh, she suddenly dropped dead, giving the heroine a chance to escape.

The moment Ji Qing woke up, she saw a battered mermaid in front of her. Her breathtaking beauty seemed to glow in the cramped, gloomy basement.

"I'll kill you."

The mermaid, once pure and kind by nature, glared at her with bloodshot eyes. Her ocean-blue eyes, once as clear as the sea, now brimmed with a chilling, intense hatred and murderous intent.

And in Ji Qing's hand was a pair of scissors, poised to cut out the mermaid's tongue.

Ji Qing thought that if she could have a second chance, she would go to the party her friend had invited her to, instead of staying home alone reading novels until midnight.
