Sorry, It's My First Time Being a Substitute, So I'm Still a Little Rusty

After JI Chunlai arrived in the city, a fellow villager helped her get a job as a server at a private club. She had no grand ambitions. She just wanted to find steady work, save up some money, marry a woman who would have her, and live a good life together.

One day, however, Ji Chunlai carried a fruit platter into the wrong private room. The person inside mistook her for someone they had called in. After a night of passion, she woke up in a daze to find a contract offering to keep her as a lover slapped in her face. She looked up and saw a beautiful woman with beguiling features, smoking a slender cigarette and exhaling clouds of smoke.

Ji Chunlai had a new job. Her boss was generous and kind. The only downside was that the job would last just one year. When the person her boss loved came back, Ji Chunlai would be out of work.

Still, that was fine. After a year, she could take the money and find herself a wife.

When Si Wanguang's friends heard she'd taken in a country girl as her kept lover, they laughed at her. Even with someone she liked, she still couldn't keep other women away. Could she really call that love?

Si Wanguang didn't argue. She raised her delicate brows, her eyes alluring enough to steal one's soul.

"Even if I like her, I'm hardly going to stay faithful to her."

Her friends laughed and called her a heartbreaker. Then they asked what would happen if the kept girl got lost in her tender embrace and refused to leave. Si Wanguang said nothing, only smiling with her eyes half-lidded.

Her friends fell silent. It was true: Si Wanguang could be as tender as could be when she was in love, and as ruthless as could be when she grew tired of someone.

But they never expected that after the kept girl left, Si Wanguang would abandon the dignity she usually valued above all else and go completely mad. She showed up at the woman's wedding and begged Ji Chunlai in a meek voice to leave with her.
