My Blind Date Is My Online Neighbor

A cohabitation story, both leads are virgins.

Lin Zhao met a French-Chinese mixed-race netizen on a foreign app for practicing spoken languages. Lin Zhao spoke clumsy French while the other man spoke Chinese like a robot. They chatted for a full six months.

Lin Zhao had imagined meeting his online friend many times. Maybe the guy would be much older and ugly, sitting across from him and saying "Hello" in awkward Chinese.

It was fine, all okay. He was always incredibly tolerant. After all, they were the best online neighbors.

Lin Zhao had prepared himself for anything, but before he could meet his online friend, his mother suddenly arranged a blind date for him.

The man sitting across from him in the cafe was tall, with striking features and golden, slightly wavy hair. He looked just like someone out of Greek mythology, for crying out loud.

Before the man even spoke, Lin Zhao's heart was already pounding. Then he heard him say in halting Chinese:

"Good morning. Now, I have no marriage plan."

Lin Zhao: ...His way of speaking and that voice were absurdly familiar.

Louis's friend tricked him into going on a blind date with a Chinese dictionary. The guy across from him was beautiful, like an angel, but Louis had no plans to get married. After honestly telling him so, he intended to end the date.

Then the other guy spoke in a clear, pleasant voice: "Thanks. I don't have any plans to get married for now, either."

Louis knew that voice. It belonged to his online friend, the one he'd been practicing spoken Chinese with.

Thinking that if his online friend married someone else, they'd have less time to teach him Chinese, and that the friend would pay less attention to him after getting married...

Louis took back his previous answer and told his online friend again:

"I'm very useful. We should get married."

Lin Zhao: "?"
