After Becoming a Sword Cultivator's Inner Demon

The disciples of Lingxiao Sword Sect enter the Dao through the sword. The Great Dao is endlessly intricate, and among its three thousand sword paths, the Ruthless Sword Path is the one that makes sword cultivators throughout the world tremble.

Legend has it that Chun Jun, the sword heir of Lingxiao Sword Sect, cultivated this supreme path. His emotions and desires were frozen like ice, making it the ultimate way to kill.

But dragons have their reverse scales, and people have their weaknesses. Every cultivator knew that the greatest swordsman beneath the Deity Transformation realm had let one feeling awaken all six desires, and held his junior brother close to his heart, indulging him in every way.

Now the junior brother had taken the blood from his heart and thrown a lavish feast with the one he loved, holding a grand ceremony for the righteous path with his beloved. Chun Jun, the sword heir, had become a laughingstock throughout the cultivation world.

The northern lands were bitterly cold. A white-robed cultivator trudged through the snow, his figure nearly buried beneath frost and snow.

A voice spoke inside his heart: "Chun Jun, Chun Jun, you gave up your Dao Seed for him and were rejected by Heaven's Will. A century of cultivation was ruined, and now even staying alive is a struggle."

"Now he's with his beloved, their passion still burning bright, while you willingly exile yourself to the Northern Wasteland. Don't you regret it?"

"If I were you, I'd dig out the bones and heart of the one who betrayed me, and destroy both body and soul!"

"Give me your body... Chun Jun... give me your body..."

"Heart demon, you're noisy."

The white-robed cultivator's face was as cold as frost. The long sword in his hand hummed and trembled. "Those who disturb my mind must be slain."

Heart demons arise from desire and are born of obsession.

Centuries after that grand Dao-proving ceremony, no one saw the white-robed swordsman again. Some said he had failed to overcome his tribulation of love, his Dao heart had collapsed, and he had perished in a savage wasteland.

Others said that his Dao Seed had grown unstable and heart demons had taken root. He had secluded himself for years to cultivate and slay them, but no one knew whether he had succeeded.

Cultivators have no sense of the passing years. Gradually, no one spoke of the peerless swordsman of extraordinary talent who had vanished from the cultivation world.

Meanwhile, in a small town in the lower realm, an eccentric seeker of immortality appeared at some point.

He had a carefree, wild look about him. Though he was an insignificant mortal seeking immortality, he sneered at the immortal sects and said, "Hahaha... Hahahaha! The Great Dao, Heaven's Will... they're nothing special! That peerless swordsman Chun Jun is nothing but my prisoner!"
