On the Possibility of Tentacle-Enchanted Geto

[This is just a blurb. The main text is currently being revised, so it's normal if some plot points don't connect yet.]

Suguru Geto keeps an orange, clingy octopus that can write.

He carefully puts it in a square tank and fills it with water and food. Every day after school, Suguru sits beside the tank and reads, just so the octopus can get used to him.

To keep it from feeling too lonely, he even adds a starfish as a companion.

The first week, nothing happens in the tank.

The second week, the water remains perfectly still.

The octopus always hides in its shelter, trembling with fear.

This leaves Suguru at a loss.

Then, in the third week, he finds the octopus cuddling the starfish. Thinking it has finally come around, he sees it trembling as it holds up a note.

[I'll try my best to mate... Please don't eat me, sob...]

Suguru: ?

That very night, the starfish is removed.

You've been caught by a man named Suguru and put in a tank. An advanced tank that refills itself, expensive water toys, and a black-haired human who occasionally strokes you with his thumb.

You don't know what any of it is. You only miss the vast, boundless ocean.

So one night, you use your tentacles to pry open the lid. After a moment's thought, you decide to sneak out.

Lost, you mistake a place for a little mountain stream and eagerly head over, only to see your caretaker with his back to you.

Water from the showerhead pours over him from head to toe. His black hair is dripping wet. He turns his head, and you see his dark, utterly cold gaze.

...Human, you seem a little off.

Guide:

1. BG romance. The main story is told in first person, from the perspective of Suguru, a second-year student who's not quite right in the head.

2. Nonhuman character. This is just a restorative story to help me unwind. Once I'm feeling better, I'll go back to mainly updating the Ning Ning story next door.

2. Everything before 30,000 words is from the previous unrevised version. I've changed the premise and rewritten it all. Locked chapters haven't been revised yet.

Theme: True love comes first
