Dawn Breaks in the East

Setting: An imaginary ancient dynasty where men can marry. Those who marry as the bride become red sons, meaning they give up men's rights, primarily inheritance and the right to take a wife.

Blurb:

Zhao Quan wants nothing more than to be an idle prince, but somehow he keeps getting caught up in trouble.

After twenty years of acting like a playboy, he's become quite good at it. Now all he needs is a beautiful prince consort.

[His scheming adviser]: He must be a male consort, and you must love him devotedly and never take concubines. With no heirs, His Majesty will feel reassured.

[Zhao Quan]: I don't like men.

[His scheming adviser]: You don't have to like men, but you do have to like sex.

Then he meets Jiang Yubai. With a contract, an IOU, and a promise, he tricks him into coming home.

Later, after acting so long like a man devoted to his wife, even he can't tell whether his feelings are real or fake.

Marriage first, love later. A romance-focused story, and not a long one.

Sharp-tongued, devoted, fatherly seme (never sharp-tongued toward the uke)

Cold-looking but actually silly, sweet, and delicate uke (not very healthy, but gets better later)

Theme: Money doesn't grow on trees
