[Western Crossover] A Gotham Bystander with a Game System

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Troy was an unfortunate high school student.

In America, high schoolers his age always came with all kinds of buffs.

The sickly buff, orphanhood, mental illness, and so on.

That's right, he had them all.

His parents were both dead, but they had left him an inheritance. He was completely color-blind and saw only black and white.

Each of these traits alone sounded like something out of a certain web-novel platform's overpowered protagonist story.

But unfortunately, he was born in Gotham, and on Green River.

Everyone in Gotham had it rough.

And on Green River, these traits were nothing special.

How could a Green River protagonist, in a genre full of beautiful, strong, and tragic characters, be so ordinary?

So there was one thing about Troy that was different.

He had never made it safely to the age of eighteen.

From the Devastator to Lord Superman, from all the various ways that a certain dark knight could turn evil to the hundred ways the Kryptonian next door could go dark,

he had lived through countless reboots of the world, retaining his memories each time.

But this reboot seemed different from the others.

First...

Troy watched as his desk mate walked over and sat down beside him.

Noticing Troy's gaze, his desk mate gave him a gentle smile.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Troy shook his head.

He thought he could see other colors on his desk mate.

As for the second thing,

he patted his head.

It was just that some guy called the System had suddenly asked him to play a game.

[Rules:]

1. You have seven days to complete each card after drawing it.

2. The next card is drawn on the seventh day after the previous draw. (No drawing early.)

3. The time spent on a card counts as game time.

4. Each card you use unlocks a location as a game area, where you can move around freely.

5. If your ability score is too low, you can roll a die. Get a result higher than the number required by the event to succeed. Failure...

6. The game is just a game.

7. You can win people's hearts in the game areas. Loyalty never lies.

8. The game has no rewards or punishments. The cards themselves are the rewards and punishments.

9. The game is just a game.

Reading notes:

1. Third person, written to the author's tastes. The desk mate is the little red bird, and the pairing is with the little red bird.

2. All game mechanics are the author's own invention (just background).

3. OOC warning. Everyone gets put through the wringer. At heart, it's a comedy (I've already drawn cards, cut me some slack).

4. Content warnings (will add more if I think of any).

5. The cover uses a character-design template. It isn't unique, and I bought it a long time ago.

(It will be changed.)

Theme: As long as you persevere, everyone will find their own light.
