Gu Yi was orphaned when both her parents died in battle as she was a child. Adopted by the Prime Minister's family, she grew up free and carefree. But at her sixteenth birthday ceremony, an accident struck and her soul left her body.

After drifting about as a ghost for a while, she thought she could finally return to her body, only to discover that someone else had taken it over.

Before she could figure out what was going on, Gu Yi blacked out. When she opened her eyes again, she had gone from Gu Yi, the current Duke of Bauhinia, to Gu Zhaoxi, a distant blood relative of hers with no family background, no title, and barely any money.

Gu Zhaoxi: "?!"

After finally coming to terms with the fact that her body was no longer hers, Gu Zhaoxi soon heard the news: "Duke Gu Yi of Bauhinia has differentiated into an SSS-class Alpha."

Gu Zhaoxi: Seriously? You stole her body and somehow gave her a sex-change operation too?

Then she heard that the Prime Minister's family, who had always regretted that she had differentiated as a beta, had thrown a lavish party to celebrate Gu Yi passing the entrance exam for Saint Virtue University.

Gu Zhaoxi: They weren't this happy when she ranked first in the joint entrance exam before. Why are they celebrating now that Gu Yi's grades have fallen after turning into an Alpha?

At the party, the heir to the Duchy of Roses, who had been engaged to her in name since childhood and always complained about her being a beta, greeted Gu Yi with delight and showered her with praise.

Gu Zhaoxi: This person used to criticize her table manners at every meal. Now Gu Yi doesn't even bother with etiquette, and they're happier with her?

The empire's top school, Saint Virtue United University, held its joint entrance exam. Many powerful families were discussing whether the rising star of the new year would be Gu Yi, Duke of Bauhinia, or the Prime Minister's youngest daughter.

But when the results came out, an unfamiliar name topped both the mecha department and the command department: Gu Zhaoxi.

In an interview, the "incompetent beta" Gu Zhaoxi replied: "Thanks. Here's a little demonstration of what real ability looks like."

And yet, as if they were suspicious of Gu Zhaoxi:

The Prime Minister's eldest daughter, the empire's youngest earl and major general, cornered her in the training room, pinned her to the ground with their fingers interlocked, and brushed a straight nose along her neck. Deep eyes brimmed with tender affection. "Why can't I smell your pheromones, even like this?"

The dazzling heir to the Duchy of Roses sent her hundreds upon hundreds of invitations, asking her to visit the private estate alone. Yet at the dinner party, they locked her in a bedroom, their hot breath brushing Gu Zhaoxi's ear. "This is my pheromone test report. Would you be willing to exchange yours with me?"

While taking part in a wilderness combat exercise with the Duke of Osmanthus, this top-tier Omega suddenly went into heat. She knocked away the suppressants Gu Zhaoxi had taken out. Her lovely face was flushed, tears welled in her eyes, and she panted, "I need you more than I need suppressants."

And then there was Gu Yi, the transmigrator who had taken over her body, releasing pheromones again and again in an attempt to make Gu Zhaoxi lose control.

Gu Zhaoxi: "..."
